Our Story
Mike and Kathy married in 1980 and founded Blair’s Shavings in 1983 out of their homestead in Fort Worth where they still reside today. Mike is a lifelong horseman. He showed AQHA as a youth and began to rodeo in high school. He earned his PRCA card shortly after high school graduation and began his rodeo career as a professional bull rider in the 80’s. He’s now an avid team roper and enjoys being horseback as much as possible. Kathy’s always had a love for horses and spent many years helping their daughter Kristin show AQHA during her youth. Once Kristin graduated from high school, Kathy took up team roping with Mike and also learned to rope making horses a family affair. Kristin is now married to Brady and they reside in Godley with their three children, Weslyn, Kylee and Bear. Brady is a Weatherford fireman and helps on his days off, as he’s a long time horseman as well.
